CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- There was still no air-conditioning Sunday morning for the nearly 100 residents of an apartment building.

As the temperatures soared this weekendm the air conditioning failed at the Schiff Residences in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood.

The five-story building at 1244 North Clybourn is home to 96 people. Many are formerly homeless and Cabrini-Green residents, elderly or disabled.

One person was transported to Northwestern Hospital in good condition. Others were put on cooling buses and only one person took the city's offer for alternative housing.

Chicago's Office of Emergency Management tells WBBM Newsradio all units now have a box fan until the cooling system is up and running again.

Some residents say this is not the first time the A/C has gone out.
