CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Ice cream company founders Ben and Jerry are helping out a congressional candidate in the western suburbs by naming a flavor after her.

They did it back for Bernie Sanders two years ago, now Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield have picked Lauren Underwood and six other Democrats running for Congress to make special flavors for.

The Naperville nurse and Obama administration healthcare advisor says she learned about the contest on twitter.

The contest with the progressive group asks the public to suggest flavors and names that reflect each of the candidates. Batches of the ice cream will be raffled off to benefit their campaigns.

Underwood says her staff is toying with something like Illinois sweet corn or health CARE-emel for all or blue wave.

The contest ends Friday. Winning flavors will be announced October 7th.
