CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Chicago Bears are moving their summer training camp to Halas Hall in Lake Forest, ending their years-long tradition of preparing for upcoming seasons in Bourbonnais.

Listen to your team news NOW.

The Bears made the announcement Tuesday afternoon, effective immediately, citing improvements made at the organization's North Shore headquarters. The team has practiced at Bourbonnais, near Kankakee, since 20002, and before that held training camps in Platteville, Wisconsin. The team last used Halas Hall for pre-season training in the early-1980s.

Bears officials said the public would still be welcome at practice sessions over the summer. Details were not immediately released.
