Bears' Sam Acho Out For Season With Torn Pectoral

October 01, 2018 - 12:23 pm

(670 The Score) Veteran Bears outside linebacker Sam Acho has suffered a torn pectoral muscle and will miss the remainder of the season, coach Matt Nagy told reporters at Halas Hall on Monday afternoon.

With Acho lost, the Bears will be missing key depth at outside linebacker and an important presence on special teams. The 30-year-old Acho had played in all four games this season, leaving a 48-10 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday with the injury.

Acho has been with the Bears since 2015, playing in 51 games during his time with the team. He played in all 16 games last year, starting 12.

The Bears head into their bye week with Acho joining cornerback Prince Amukamara, cornerback Marcus Cooper and rookie receiver Anthony Miller as players dealing with injuries. The team has had an otherwise good record with health in attaining a 3-1 record on the season.

There will be no practices this week, with the Bears returning to work next Monday in advance of their game against the Dolphins in Miami on Oct. 14.
