CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO/670 The Score) -- The Bears are going international this year, with a scheduled game in London against the Raiders.

The NFL announced Monday that the Bears' road game against the Oakland Raiders in 2019 will be played in London. The game is among five games to be played outside of the United States -- four in London, one in Mexico City -- and marks the first time in eight years that the Bears are returning to England.

It had been uncertain where the Bears and Raiders would play their game given the Raiders are entering their final year in Oakland. There had been speculation of potentially playing at the San Francisco Giants' Oracle Park. However, that now has changed.

A game date and time for the Bears and Raiders will not be announced until the NFL sets its full schedule. The league has also yet to designate whether the game will be played in Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium or Wembley Stadium, with there being two games in each.

This will be the third regular-season game in Bears history played outside the United States and the second contest in London.

The Bears beat the Buccaneers 24-18 on Oct. 23, 2011 before a crowd of 76,981 at Wembley Stadium. The Bears also played a preseason game at Wembley Stadium on Aug. 2, 1986, beating the Cowboys 17-6.

The Bears played their first regular-season game outside the United States on Nov. 7, 2010, defeating the Bills 22-19 at Rogers Centre in Toronto.

The other three London matchups in 2019 will feature the Panthers against the Buccaneers, the Bengals versus the Rams and the Texans against the Jaguars. A fifth international game will be played in Mexico City between the Chiefs and Chargers.

In addition to their game against the Raiders in London, the Bears are slated to host the Lions, Packers, Vikings, Chargers, Cowboys, Chiefs, Giants and Saints, in 2019, while visiting the Lions, Packers, Vikings, Broncos, Eagles, Rams and Redskins.
