Bears Place Kyle Long On Injured Reserve

November 03, 2018 - 3:24 pm

(670 The Score) The Bears have placed guard Kyle Long on injured reserve after he suffered a right foot injury in a win last Sunday.

The designation means Long will have to miss at least eight games, which means the earliest he could return is for the regular-season finale in Week 17. The Bears haven't shared details about the nature of Long's foot injury.

Rookie James Daniels and veteran Eric Kush will start as the two guard spots when Chicago (4-3) plays at Buffalo (2-6) on Sunday. Those two had been rotating often at the guard spot opposite Long.

Defensive tackle Bilal Nichols (knee) and tight end Ben Braunecker (concussion) will also be out Sunday, as they didn't travel with the team to Buffalo.

In another roster move, the Bears elevated running back Taquan Mizzell from the practice squad to the active roster.
