Bears' Amukamara, Miller Out Against Bucs

September 28, 2018 - 1:41 pm

(670 The Score) For the first time this season, the Bears are being tested by injuries, as cornerback Prince Amukamara and receiver Anthony Miller will miss the game against the Buccaneers on Sunday.

Amukamara will sit out because of a hamstring injury. The Bears are likely to start undrafted rookie Kevin Toliver at cornerback in place of Amukamara. They will be forced to do so against a Buccaneers offense that has averaged 34 points and an NFL-best 473.3 yards per game.

Miller will be out due to a dislocated left shoulder that he suffered last Sunday. Coach Matt Nagy indicated that Miller wouldn't require surgery for the injury. A second-round pick, Miller has eight receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown in his first three games.

"We’ll have to see where that goes, Nagy said this week of Miller's status. "You obviously want to be smart with those as you know that we will do."

Veteran cornerback Marcus Cooper will also miss Sunday's game, his second straight week out due to a hamstring injury. He likely would've filled the void of Amukamara if healthy.

Kickoff between the Bears (2-1) and Buccaneers (2-1) is at noon Sunday from Soldier Field, with Chicago looking for its first three-game winning streak since 2013.
