Bears' Adam Shaheen, Aaron Lynch In Concussion Protocol

November 19, 2018 - 12:56 pm

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) -- The Bears have begun a short week of work with tight end Adam Shaheen and outside linebacker Aaron Lynch both in the concussion protocol.

Each player left the Bears' 25-20 win against the Vikings at Soldier Field on Sunday night with injury. Both will be evaluated as this week moves along, coach Matt Nagy said. Details weren't immediately clear in the noon hour Monday, as players were just arriving to meetings and to meet with the training staff ahead of a game against the Lions in Detroit on Thursday.

Shaheen appeared to suffer his concussion in the fourth quarter as he hauled in a two-point coversion in the corner of the end zone. Sunday marked his first action of the season, as he was on injured reserve for the first nine games dueo to a right foot/ankle injury. Lynch was ruled out by the team at halftime. He has three sacks on the season.

The Bears came out of the game otherwise healthy, but given the short recovery window this week, it appears likely they'll be without both Shaheen and Lynch come Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Lions will likely be without rookie running back Kerryon Johnson, according to multiple reports. Johnson suffered a knee injury during the Lions' win Sunday.
