Another Potential Mayoral Candidate: Congressman Quigley

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Democratic Congressman Mike Quigley said he’ll make up his mind in the next two weeks on whether he'll enter the 2019 Chicago mayoral race.

Quigley, who sat on the Cook County Board for 10 years before taking his career to Washington, is weighing said he’s considering whether he may accomplish more for the city of Chicago.

He said Chicagoans are facing a number of issues, including crime, schools and rising property taxes.

Earlier Monday, former U.S. Commerce Secretary William Daley announced his candidacy for mayor. He is the brother of longtime Mayor Richard M. Daley and the son of Mayor Richard J. Daley.

Also expected to launch a bid for mayor is Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle.
