CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- One person was killed and two others were hurt in a crash early Friday in west suburban Batavia.

Batavia Police Detective Michelle Langston said it happened just before 5 a.m. in the 500 block of North Randall Road.

"A disabled vehicle was struck in the northbound outside lane of Randall Road by a truck," Langston said. "That disabled vehicle was a limo."

Randall Road was shut down from Mill Street to Fabyan Parkway for several hours as multiple agencies worked to investigate.

"A special team had to be called out," Langston said. "The Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team was called out because of the injuries involved and the fatality to investigate the accident."

Two people were assisting with a disabled vehicle in the northbound lane when the vehicle and both people were struck by a truck, police said. One was taken to a hospital with serious injuries and the other was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

A third has has been pronounced dead, police said. It was not immediately clear if that person was inside the disabled vehicle, or was outside the vehicle assisting.
